Foodie Post!

It's time to park it and write this blog post!  I have been so busy lately and I'm on holidays, probably sounds familiar to most, especially Pastors who are preparing their churches for Christmas.  I will give you an update of my studies and church life another time, for this post I'm talking about the best bit of the Bayswater Street Party...The Kitchen.  : )

If you didn't go, you missed out on some great presentations, there was a mixture of Sri lankan and Indigenous food, as well as Steven Kain (Food Safety Officer for Knox City Council.)  Steven always puts on a great show and presents us with mouth watering food to taste at the end.  His experience as a Chef and his passion for food is totally appreciated by onlookers who get to sample.

Steven was explaining to us how thermometers were important in cooking all meats.  I didn't think much of it until I tasted the chicken.  Steven explained how we often over cook chicken because we're so scared of salmonella but then miss out on tender, moist chicken for dinner.  So now I'm going to buy one, because I totally want to reproduce what he prepared for us.

This chicken breast was so tender...Go and buy yourself a thermometer.

This is Steven serving up his dish at the end.  A chicken breast fillet over a chickpea and spinach salad.  Nice work.
